Semantic Tools
OpenPublish supports RDFa and is powered by a semantic metadata engine to provide contextual tagging.
Your website will already have semantic web features that your competitors are only reading about. With the power of Open Calais, semantically linking your content throughout the web is only a click away.
Content AutoTagging (using Calais)
Administrators can take advantage of the Thomson Reuters’ Open Calais service to tag content. Calais offers tag suggestions for content automatically based on a relevancy score. Administrators may choose to apply only certain tags or apply them all.
Calais will not only allow publishers to tag current content, but they can also tag entire libraries of archived content within hours. And, the tags used on Calais produce better search results, which can lead to more traffic and thus more content monetization.

Geotagging and Maps
With Calais content tagging comes geo-tagging metadata. Tags related to location in the vocabularies can be mapped on a Google map and displayed alongside stories or other content. The map is completely configurable, and be easily made to fit within the site’s design. Custom mashups can also be created with this data.

Topic Hubs
Harnessing the power of Calais tagging, administrators can create topic hubs based on site’s most popular tags. Topic hubs are highly configurable and contain a series of pluggable content modules, like “Most Read” content for this topic, “Most Commented” stories, most active contributors, and links to other related topics. For example a topic hub of “healthcare” may have related topics of “homeopathy” and “medicine”. Through topic hubs, readers can explore all content related to subjects they are interested in. And, different from other news topic pages, these are configured automatically instead of being curated by editorial staff.

Content Suggestion with More Like This
More Like This is a feature that allows an editor to set up automatic suggestions other related content of interest to the reader. Using the semantically driven tags provided by Calais, More Like This will automatically generate a list of related content based on the same tags. Because Calais uses relevancy scores, the suggested content is always applicable to readers. More Like This also includes integration with Flickr, Google Video, and Yahoo! BOSS to display content from a variety of external sources in addition to promoting native site content.
